  • Compare your building’s performance with similar properties.

  • Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency.

  • Monitor ongoing progress and compliance with state and federal mandates.

Large Building Energy Reporting (LBER)

LBER ensures transparent energy reporting and helps businesses and policymakers:
Track energy performance across large buildings
Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements
Support sustainability initiatives aligned with local and federal goals

BEAM Portal Compliance Tracking

The BEAM Portal aggregates benchmarking data and tracks compliance based on a jurisdictions specific energy policy. An increasing number of governments and private entities alike are signing on to an energy-conscious agenda. Including building performance standards (BPS) in the building sector. Buildings subject to these BPS, face a complex sequence of decisions to meet increasingly stringent consumption and emissions targets, which can leave building owners frustrated and without a clear path forward.

Massachusetts Energy Reporting Services

At BCR Solutions, we specialize in helping Massachusetts businesses navigate the complex landscape of energy reporting and compliance. We can help with data collection services for gas, propane, fuel oils, electric, or renewable energy sources. And do the reporting for your business at a fraction of the cost of internal resources required so you can meet regulatory requirements.

Large Building Energy Reporting (LBER) – Massachusetts

The Large Building Energy Reporting (LBER) Program was introduced in 2022 under Governor Baker’s “An Act of Clean Energy (G.L. c. 25A, §20).” This policy requires electric, gas, and steam utilities to report energy data to the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER). Building owners must also report additional energy usage, including fuel oil, propane, wood, and on-site solar generation.

Who Needs to Report?

  • Buildings with a gross floor area of 20,000 square feet or greater.

Important Reporting Dates:

  • February & March 2025 – Building owners will receive mail notification of their inclusion on the draft Covered Buildings List.

  • March 30th – The final Covered Buildings List will be published online.

  • June 30th (Annually) – Building owner reporting deadline.

  • October 31st (Annually) – DOER publication of usage data.

By leveraging ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager® and The BEAM Portal for compliance tracking, BCR Solutions helps businesses streamline compliance, automate energy reporting, and optimize sustainability efforts.
